The area of Byram is on the west side of Greenwich bordered by the Long Island Sound to the southeast, Port Chester to the west and Glenville to the north. It is one of Greenwich’s most diverse neighborhoods. Waterfront properties can sell in the 10’s of millions while further inland is some of Greenwich’s most affordable housing.
Byram Park sits directly on Long Island Sound and offers a variety of services for the neighborhood. The pool area recently went through a complete overhaul and now has a 6,400 sq. ft. main pool with gradual entry, 6 25-meter lap lanes, a 400 sq. ft. kiddie pool and 1,000 sq. ft. splash pad-with interactive features for kids. The park also offers a beach, picnic areas with grills, concession stand, marina, ball field and playground.
The village area of Byram is a great place for grabbing a bite to eat and offers more low-key locally owned businesses for shopping. A few favorite spots to eat include Burgers, Shakes and Fries, and Firehouse Deli, both ideal for a grab-and-go bite to eat. For sit down dining, a local favorite for over 30 years, Famous Greek Kitchen is the place to go.
Byram also has its own branch of the Greenwich Public Library, the Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink and is a short walk into the Village of Port Chester, NY.
