The neighborhood of Cos Cob provides a quiet escape from the hustle of nearby New York City. Found west of the Mianus River, Cos Cob is a quaint neighborhood with rich history going back to the 1600’s. The best place to learn more about this history is the Bush Holley House, home to the Greenwich Historical Society. There, guests can not only visit immersive historical exhibits, but they can also attend art programs, workshops, and classes.
For the outdoor enthusiast Cos Cob boasts plenty of outdoor parks and attractions. These include the wooded hiking trails of Babcock Preserve and the Montgomery Pinetum, which is home to the Greenwich Botanical Center and Horticultural building. Nearby Bible Street Park has a jungle gym, a ball field as well as tennis and Bocce courts.
When it comes to the food scene, Cos Cob has some long-cherished eateries. For Breakfast or lunch, there is Rinaldi’s Country Deli, which has been serving the neighborhood for 40 years. Chicken Joe’s with their famous High School Special is another neighborhood favorite. For dinner and happy hour, Louie’s is the local spot for Italian family style dining and Coast serves up some of the best seafood around.
